‘do as you would be done by’出自小说The Water Babies.

里面有个Mrs Doasyouwouldbedoneby, 还有一个Mrs Bedonebyasyoudid。

前者指规范，后者指不规范后受到惩罚。

所以大致可以猜到would的含义
