What a special, memorable day. Arrived at the temple at 7 am in the morning trying to avoid the crowd but only to find there had already been a long line. Waited for about 20 minutes and got my serve.
The vegan mooncakes taste really nice. There are four types of flavors (i.e. seed weed and nuts, five kernel, salted nuts, and red bean). I was told the seaweed one is their signature. Best served hot and fresh out of the oven. Crunchy and crispy outside; flavorful and moist inside, savory or sweet (depending on the fillings you choose).
Cannot miss out this once-for-a-year experience of mooncake tasting. They only sell freshly baked mooncakes for 2 months’ time or so before the Mid-Autumn Festival (pre-packed mooncakes are sold all year long though, which are also good).
